Hot coffee was gross. Iced coffee was way better. It didn't burn your tongue, and tasted loads better, anyway. Well, that was Isabella's opinion, anyway. And Starbucks was the coffee capitol, iced or hot. When the worker got to work on her order, Isabella called, "Iced, by the way." The worker shot a death glance at her, as if she were making their job harder. It was just chilled. No sweat. The worker threw the covered plastic cup in front of Isabella, her iced coffee making a mess. "Thanks," she muttered, grabbing a handful of napkins, wiping off the mess and throwing them into a trash can. Isabella took her seat at a small rounded table. The cup was only half full, and done very unprofessional. Maybe she'd talk to the manager. One thing was for certain, though: she wasn't going to drink this crap.

Alex shook his head as he noticed the staff member's sloppy job. Nope. That wasn't exactly going to fly with him. It was his wife they were being rude to, after all. He walked up to the counter, smilling before he looked the employee in the eyes. "You do not treat women like that. Much less customers. You will remake her drink. Now. And you will make it right. It is your job and you will do it." He glared hard and watched as the worker looked at him like he was crazy. "Now would be nice." He slipped some money up onto the counter and ordered his own. "You will do it now or I will go get your manager." Then he lowered his voice to a whisper, "Or I will take care of you myself for insulting my wife like that." That seemed to get the worker's attention, because he went back and did them both right and in a flash. Alex's money was handed back to him as the worker explained how sorry they were for the trouble. "Oh, it was no trouble. No trouble at all." He slid the money back into his pocket and walked up bhind his wife, winding his arms around her, even with the coffee in his hands, and planting a kiss on her cheek. "Surprise."

It wasn't a bad suprise. Coming here to be alone. But being with Alex was the next best thing. "Are you going to drink both of those?" Isabella asked, automatically noticing the coffees in his hand. "Because if not, I'm taking one. Whether you like it or not," she added, grabbing one. "Sit, why don't you? Surely you don't have anything better to do." She smiled, pointing to the chair closest to her. Being with Alex was way better than being alone. Being alone was so...lonely...

He chuckled as he took his seat next to her. "Of course not. You're free to have it. If you don't mind drinking after me, you can have the majority of mine. I just drink a little, anyways." He took a gulp from his own coffee and smiled at her. "You know there is no better thing for me to do if it is compared to spending time with you." He brushed his black hair out of his eyes. It was getting dangerously long again. He probably need to get it trimmed up soon.
"What is on your agenda today? I don't have to go into work today, so I'm pretty much doing nothing." He smiled and took another drink from his coffee, trying not to reach over and wipe some of her bleached hair from her face. "You don't have to go in today, do you?"

"I'm not scared of germs, but I really can only handle one coffee a day," she said, looking up at him, then down at the brown mess. "Thanks for getting a new one, by the way. I really wasn't sure if the worker had poisoned me, or not." Isabella smiled, shaking her head. "I have nothing to do today. Yet. I will if someone suddenly dies, or something. So I guess you have me for the rest of the day," she said, examining his hair carefully. "And perhaps we could get your hair trimmed. It's getting long." When they had been younger, Isabella had loved to see Alex in long hair, but now that they were older, she wasn't a fan of her husband having longer hair than her.

"No problem. You didn't think I would let him be that disrespectful, did you?" He leaned over and kissed her cheek again, now smiling." And beleive me, I can barely handle half of one. You don't want me anymore bouncy than normal, do you? That could be scary....."
He pulled his hair infront of his eyes, remembering how she used to like it longer. "Yeah. I've been thinking about that lately too. I just suck at home ec spells and need someone else to do it.....You should know that I would burn all my hair off in the process of trying to cut it. You don't want me to be bald, do you? I just have a feeling I would not look too great with no hair......"

"Of course I don't," she said, laughing. "I'd probably have to stay up until three in the morning with you, waiting for your energy to die out." Isabella shivered at the thought. What if someone got deathly ill at four in the morning, and she had to rush to work? One hour of sleep couldn't keep her awake for more than fifteen minutes. "You could always do things the Muggle way, and cut them with scissors," Isabella suggested. "Or let me trim it. I'm not bad with hair, if you haven't noticed." She ran her fingers through her own hair a few times. Home trimmed hair wasn't too bad, and didn't cost a dime.

"Yeah. I don't need more sugar than I already consume daily. I am naturally sugar high, anyways." He smiled and laughed when she mentioned him cutting his own hair. "Once again, bald is not a good look for me. I tried cutting my own hair once. It didn't work so well. I'll let you cut it though. As long as you don't cut it too high. Or bleach it while you're at it." He said in a teasing tone, running his fingers through her hair. "Even if you look so magnificent with bleched hair, I do not."

"Maybe you should cut back on the sugar," Isabella suggested, kissing his cheek lightly. "And I promise I won't mess up your hair. You'll have a million girls asking you out when I'm done with you," she promised with a smile. "But you'd have to refuse every one, or you'll lose the most important one." She realized how conceited she sounded, but it was totally true.

"Aww, but I wouldn't be the same Alex if I cut out sugar!" He whined a bit and returning the kiss. He pushed his hair away from his face again. "But what makes you think I don't have tons of little girlies asking me out already?" He waited for a response before deciding that was probably not a good place to kid around. "Of course I'd so no to them. I already have the only girl I'll ever want. What makes you think I would pay ANY of them any attention? If I wanted to spend any time with any girls besides you, I have sisters, ya know....." He grimaced a bit when he brought up Az and Jasmine. They weren't the most accepting of people to say the least. "But ok. You can cut it whenever you want."

"I know you wouldn't be, but if you have too much, you wouldn't be the same, either, would you?" she asked. "So I think where you are right now is just fine," she added, shrugging. Coffee was delicious, but it was just too much caffiene for some people... "And I'm sure you have fangirls, but you can always have more, I'm sure," Isabella said. "You you had damn well better turn them down." She laughed, thinking of how much trouble her husband would be in if he actually went on a date with one of the girls. "But your sisters are fine...Just don't date them, because that'd be freaky."

"Dating...sisters.....Isabella, love.......I didn't know we lived in the Texas or Tennessee in the U.S.......That is just a very very scary thought that will give me nightmares for months....." He smiled at her a bit, but he was serious. That was just a very, very bad thought. VERY bad thought. "My only fanclub is the kids I teach, Isabella. But yeah. I have no reason to want to sleep on the couch or to join the headless hunt, do I? I will be sure to just tell you if I ever have that strange desire, ok? I'm pretty sure it won't come up.......Ever...." He laughed a bit and took a drink of his coffee again. Ugh. It was already melting a little.

"I've heard of it happening before," Isabella said, shrugging. "And you should tell me if you ever have that desire...Because you'll be living on the street, not sleeping on the couch." She laughed. "The kids you teach are very lucky, Mister Longbottom. You are a wonderful teacher." Compliments were always nice, no matter who received them.
