"Me...77...that's what I'm ranked...stay with me Nats," Jake laughed, although he preferred this to her figuring out what the person had said.

"But you said it had something to do with the number 77,"Natalie said slowly, eyeing him warily.
((Blahh.. ))

"She just yelled something about it, just some fan or something," Jake said nervously, wanting to change the subject as quickly as possible. "And I didn't know what the number meant until now," he said, trying to conclude the conversation.

Natalie narrowed her eyes and glared at him. "You're not telling the whole entire truth, Jake,"she said, softly, looking down. "Do you not trust me at all?"she continued, hoping her pathetic excuse for a guilt trip would work.

"I do...it's just...this person said something kind of inappropriate now that I think about it, and I don't want to spoil your night by telling you," Jake said, and this part was actually true. Although he was more concerned for his and the random stranger's safety than for Natalie's momentary 'un-ruined evening'.

"What if I promise not to hurt her?"asked Natalie, attempting to compromise. "I swear I won't do anything. Pranker's honor,"she said solemnly, lifting her left hand palms up. The redhead jumped off of her chair and hurried to Jake's side. "Please, please please please please please please please?"Natalie pleaded, sitting down on the cold hard floor. She shook his arm firmly. "Pleeeeease?!"

Jake sighed. "No, Nats, I'm sorry. You really don't want to know. Let's say it was like that waitress and leave it at that," he said simply. For once, Jake might actually take a stand against Natalie on something that doesn't involve pranks...

"Come on Jake!"Natalie groaned. She dropped her hands down to her lap. "I promised I wouldn't hurt her,"she added, hopefully. "What else do you want me to do?"she asked, looking up at him with innocent eyes.

"OK...fine," Jake sighed. "She said...'77? Well, your girl would get 7 million...'" Jake said, easily making up the lie. What she had actually said was much worse, but he managed to make it sound like he were being truthful.

Natalie raised an eyebrow and grumbled something incoherent under her breath. "I don't buy it,"she said, gruffly. "You wouldn't be making such a big deal out of it if it was just that,"she added, glaring up at him.

"Well, you're very protective of your Quidditch playing..." Jake trailed off. "Now can we just move on...why does it even matter what she said, she was some random witch on the street," he added, nudging Nats in the direction of her seat.

"No I'm not,"Natalie shook her head. An obvious lie. "You know just as well as I do that I can't be able to track her down and beat her to a bloody pulp with my bat. I'm not moving until you spill,"grumbled Natalie. She sat down crossleged and folded her arms across her chest.

Jake didn't even think. "She said, 'Do me 77 times before each game for luck'," Jake said rapidly, and instantly covered his mouth, eyes wide. "Just...kidding?..." he lied, faking a laugh and hoping she might think he had been joking the whole time, when he obviously hadn't been.

Natalie blinked several times. Her face was emotionless and blank. "Oh,"she said slowly, rising up. "Ok then,"she continued, brushing herself off and walked back to her seat. "So what do you want to do after dinner? I think they're doing a Christmas marathon on the telly in an hour,"Natalie said, conversationally, picking up a TV Guide.

Jake was confused by the sudden change of topic. Assuming that she was trying to cover up her emotions by casual talk, he just said, "Yeah...that'll be fun. What's that one movie called? How the finch rolled Christmas?" he asked, trying to get a laugh out of her.

"No, I think it's Elf,"Natalie replied, flipping the page. "Yup, Elf,"she concluded, closing the TV Guide and putting it down on the seat next to her. She pulled out her wand and flicked it at the kitchen once. The turkey and mashed potatoes and other food flew out and floated softly onto the table.

//*runs off to modify posts of Jake eating turkey* lol//
"Ah...I don't think I've seen that one. Is it good?" Jake asked, trying to keep the conversation going. The last thing he wanted was an awkward silence, especially when it was supposed to be a happy occasion. "Do you want to watch it tonight?" he continued.

Natalie shrugged and picked up a fork. "Whatever you want. It's your night,"she replied, stabbing the fork into the mashed potatoes and jamming it into her mouth as calmly as possible.
((LOL.. SORRY!! ))

"Only if you want to," Jake persisted. After a pause in which he grabbed some turkey, he added, "Look Nats, it's not a big deal. So some crazy witch thinks it's funny to crack jokes about Quidditch players and their sex lives, it doesn't mean anything. I for one want to enjoy this evening, and I think you do too."

"Whoever said anything about me being upset about it?"she asked, looking up at him. She twirled her fork absent-mindedly between her fingers. "I know you have crazy fans out there. I accept that, I do,"Natalie looked straight into his eyes. "And I know they're bound to do something crazy like that,"she shrugged. "It's the celebrity life. I can't do anything about that."
((Hahah... Don't worry.. She's not as calm as she seems.. ))

//o.O...I hope not. lol//
"OK, Nats...so what do you want to do tonight?" Jake asked, still suspicious of her sudden change in mood. "Watch that movie...House-Elf or whatever. Or play a game...anything you want," he continued, not having the best imagination at the moment.

"I guess we could watch the movie until we get bored,"she shrugged again, slowly sliding off the chair. Natalie walked into the living room and turned on the T.V. She flipped to the channel and plopped herself on the couch, arms folded across her chest.

Jake finished the last bit of turkey on his plate hurriedly and followed, waving his wand at the table to clean everything up. He sat down next to Natalie and poked her, smiling. "Is wittle miss Weasley gonna pout?" he asked jokingly, trying not to laugh.

"Hmm?"she looked up at him, blinking. "Oh sorry. I was just tired,"she laughed, stifling a yawn. "Cooking takes a lot of work,"Natalie continued, pulling her legs up on the couch. She watched the Geico commercial silently, still deep in thought.

Jake laughed. "OK then," he said simply and turned to watch a talking lizard explain how you could save big on car insurance. These were some of his favorite commercials. He waited for the movie to come on, seeming happy and oblivious to Natalie...but he was still watching her carefully, making sure she was OK with what he had said.
