"O'der! I do call 'Oder!" A bang of a clavical went through the completly full assembly hall. In responce, there were several chuckles and a few people yelling out.
"Look at the little girl! Isn't she so cute!"
"She's trying to be like her mommy! Where's Diane, honey?" A random person called out.
The little girl who was standing on five phone books from behind the podium raised her voice.
"I am Diane! I am! I really am! Look!" She disappeared in a puff of smoke and reappeared.
"I didn't know Fate was still a little girl!" Another onlooker said. It was a Grim Reaper who was laughing at the poor child.
This morning, Diane Time-(Soon to be) Goodwill had found a grown man in her bed who was not Robb. She had kicked him out immedeatly and prayed Robb would never know. It wouldn't help their already hurt relationship if he figured out she had gone drinking again and hooked up with a really cute guy (again) and the slept with him. She then got out of bed and took a shower. It wasn't until she began to brush her teeth that she saw the face of a small child in the mirror. Small startling black eyes, a full mouth, hooked nose, and a tiny girl who's promise of beauty had hardly bloomed yet was looking in the space that five foot nine Diane was supposed to be. Instead of beautiful long, straight black hair, the girl looking back had short, frizzy, and curly hair that poked out everywhere and would not tame with a hairbrush.
She did not even finish brushing her teeth. She just dropped the toothbrush and ran out the door, touching plants that died the moment her fingers left their previously green petals. She ran out to her front lawn and pounded the grass until every single blade was brown and dry. She didn't notice this, of course. She didn't even consider the fact that, since five year old Diane had not gotten her power (When a Death dies, they pass their power down and basically take over the body of a six year old) for another year. She did not consider that she still had her power and not only that, but it was running rampant.
When she finally calmed down and finished her screaming, Diane had thrown on a pair of leather gloves that Fate had had when she was a child.
But that wasn't enough protection. So now, the child standing in front of the Reapers, Elementals, and Oracles was wearing a rain coat, gollashes, and another layer of leather over that. She had been careful not to touch a single living thing with her bare skin and had made it a crucial point to call whoever was avalable for this crucial meeting. She did not invite the Tripps or Malfoys, didn't have the time.
"Oh, I give up. Screw you guys." The little Diane had a lisp that made them laugh even more. She walked off the stage and bumped into a woman who looked frantic.
"Thank goodness! I thought you'd never end that stupid thing. Okay, Momma, here's the plan." The woman spoke quickly.
"Wait a second! I'm not your momma!" Diane pushed the girl back with her gloves. Just then, someone dusted right in front of her.
It was that man she had woke up with. He had someone else with him too. . ..
