"Dressed up for something special?" One of the many single guys (Who, for some reason, came back to their teenage hangout to look for chicks) had come up to Mildred yet again. He was obviously a bit Butterbeer drunk. Mil couldn't blame him for asking. She was dressed up for a snazzy party in Muggle London. Actually, it was a Fashion show in Milan, but she coudn't really tell. She dusted herself there. She had been abole to switch clothes with one of the models and causally hang around the others until she reaped a certain miss 'Franchecha Meha'. A model who just so happened to have too much Chardonay that night. She had kept the gorgeous black dress. It had a hood, but no sleaves. And it seemed to have pockets as well.

The bell over the door in the Three Broomsticks gave a small ring but with the amount of people in the place, most likely it was not heard. In walked James Potter, a pair of Levi jeans hung off his hips and down to his black leather shoes. A plain, long sleeve black shirt that hugged his torso was just visible under his Auror robes. He had JUST gotten off work and since he was having dinner with Kat and her family later, he figured he would pick up a bottle of butter-wine for them and some bottles of spring water for him. Hey, he could not show up drunk for work the next day, nor could even the tiniest bit of alcohol be visible on his breath. He signaled the bar man who nodded and went back to get James his usual. He ran a hand through his think mahogany hair as his emerald eyes scanned the crowd. He saw a group of people staring at this woman, who he recognized immediately and decided he was going to be funny. After shooing off most of the people with his Auror badge, he shook off his robe and leaned down to whisper in her ear, “Are you sore? Because you are an angel who must have fallen from heaven.” He said keeping the laughter out of his voice though his eyes were dancing with mischief. He knew the line was cheesy and most likely she would attempt to punch him…but it would be worth it.

She turned and slammed her open palm into his face. "The line is: Are your wings sore? Because you must've flown here from heaven. Jerk!" She sent the second palm in, but made it blow into dust the moment she saw who's face she had slammed. "James?!" She exclaimed and went down to pick him up, sure that he would've gotten knocked down. Her shinny Careash dress was glittering as she knelt. She heard a guy who " HUBBA HUBBA!" And she left jams to elbow the guy in the chest and kick him in the face. She then returned to James.

By the time Mil got back, James was sitting up and rubbing his cheek, “Bloody hell do you pack one hell of a punch.” He said with a good-natured laugh as he stood up and smiled at her. “I knew I would probably be slapped for it, as I saw all the other guys around you, but it was worth it for your reaction. However, remind me not to piss you off, or ever piss you and my sister off at the same time. I do not think anyone would be able to survive that.” He said with another chuckle as the barman came back, took the money James gave him and put the container on the counter. “So, what fancy occasion are you or did you go to? Because I’ve been to The Three Broomsticks many times before and it has NEVER been a black tie affair.” He said with a grin, showing off his smile.

"James Potter!" Mil was fustrated that he wasn't still on the floor. Auror training must've made him stronger than the other creeps. She felt weaker for some odd reason but, remembering the fact that she had just changed reality for one model, she felt better. She could see why Robb had married into this job, it was nice at times. "I was at a show in Milan for your information!" She took up the poise of a model on the runway. "Noticed the dress?" She smiled.

“Yes?” He asked with a smile as she yelled his name, giving a small chuckle at the frustrated look that passed over her face. “Really? And yes I did notice the dress, as did half the male population in this bar, half of them married.” He said with a smile as he ran his hand through his hair, something he had picked up from his father. “I’m really glad I ran into you.” He stated, “I haven’t seen a lot of people except my family and co-workers since I became head of the Auror department.” He added with another smile. “You really do look beautiful in the dress.” He said realizing he hadn’t said that yet.

She felt bad for their wives. The creeps deserved it and she hoped that their wives would beat their arses when they got home. But she also hoped that the men didn't act like this at their personal abodes. "Yeah. I heard about that." That was true. Mil had overheard it while reaping a Auror. He had been quite interesting, she recalled. "And thank you. Though I felt horribly for a model who just so happened to be an alcoholic." She shrugged. "Perfect example of the 'Drugs Kill' motto." She changed the subject quickly. " So, how is work?"

“Your welcome, and while it is unfortunate for her, I believe without that you probably would not have stopped by here, so in a way I’m sort of glad she was an alcoholic.” James said with a smile. “And yes, drugs and drinks can kill when used out of moderation.” He said serious, “There are a lot of people picked off the street for just that.” He finished as he grabbed a bottle of water out of the box and opened it taking a sip. “And work is work I guess. Becoming head of the department means less field work and a lot more paper work.” He said with a shrug. “But that is a simple fact that my mother says, “Lets her sleep better at night.”” He said with a small chuckle.

"It doesn't always been less fieldwork. More paperwork, definitly." She finally felt that they had a common ground to talk on. Back when they had met at the wedding, they only talked about random minor things. Never work. "I've been the leader of my sector since I was seventeen." She said, turning to him. "And the paperwork isn't, at least in my profession, that bad. Just a few notes here and there. Signings. My bosses do most of the stuff, though."

James gave a small laugh, “Unfortunately the higher up you get in the Auror offices, the less field work you get and the more paperwork. The heads only seem to do giant assignments and there has not been one of those in awhile. That or when your agents show up late and drunk.” He added with a small chuckle remembering just that morning in the office. “You remember Dess Silver right? Well, she is my second in command and I bet she could vogue for the fact that we do have a lot less fieldwork then any of the other agents.” He finished with a charming smile.
“It doesn’t surprise me actually that you have been the boss since 17. You seem to give off a presence of superiority that anyone can feel.” He said good-naturedly. “And while I wish my boss could do the paperwork, the Minister of Magic doesn’t have time to fill out all of the assignment forms and reports. So that falls onto myself and Miss Dess.” He said with a shrug.

"Wow, the Ministry has gone up since I knew it. I didn't even know they hired Sirens." Mil remembered Dess as the annoying girl who never really had much of a social life. "And the only reason was because my boss sort-of-" She thought of a good word. "Died, I suppose. So I was his first choice. I had to drop out of school early, though. But I went back as a teacher after I repassed all my OWLS." She did not mention that the only reason she taught was because Daisy transfered to Beaubaxtons and the only other reaper was up-a-sash. And just becase Robb was gone didn't mean that reapers weren't needed. She stayed there for three years before finally quitting and making her friend, Krishna, teach and reap. Those children had been annoying as Hell at times, but they were fun as well. Using Robb's old textbooks worked quite nicely, and was perfect for a joke. "And in my profession, only the bosses can do the main paperwork. Anyone else and it just wouldn't get done."

James smiled, “They hire anyone willing to work with enough O.W.L.s and the drive to work hard…and some that don’t have the drive.” He said with a small chuckle remembering the incident with Andrew. “And I’m sorry about your boss but it sounds as if it has kept you busy. And I’ve known a few other people who have dropped out of school early and been perfectly fine, which is what you seem to be doing so schooling really doesn’t matter that much anymore.” He smiled and took a sip of water, “Can I buy you a drink or something? Or would you like a bottle of water? I feel sort of rude just sitting here and drinking in front of you.” He said.

She thought about how she wasn't exactly allowed to drink alcoholic beverages. . . But then again, this was James Potter sitting with her. "Na, it's okay. I'll buy my own." She guestered the barkeep for the wine bottle on the highest counter. It was from the year she died. It was, in a way, her second birthday. "I always like the year my younger sister, Savannah, was born." She made the lie flawlessly perfect. If he questioned her on Savannah (Who was, in fact, Regina), she would make it seem like Savannah died when she was 2 years old and that it always brought up bad memories. James, just like the others, would drop the issue. "And, actually, some of my assignments need schooling. I work as a sort-of Auror when it comes to field assignments. I have to go under-cover for some jobs. It can be anything from modelling to being a school girl." Her violet eyes flashed as she remembered that she hardly looked a day older than eightteen and, without surges, she would never look any older.

James nodded in understanding at the want to buy her own drink and looked at the type of wine she had ordered and then listened to her explanation. However, he was a bit confused by the need to explain but listened even still. “Oh, you have a younger sister?” He asked a bit surprised as she did not strike him as a sibling type of person, but then again he did not know her that well. “What does she do?” He asked casually “And your job sounds like it would keep anyone on their toes and very interesting.” He smiled.

she took a sip of wine. "You're telling me." she said, in referance to him saying that her job would keep anyone on their toes and very interesting. (I'm quoting it so that you don't misinterpret it. -smiles at Auror board-) She bit her lip softly and looked at the wine. She decided to change the lie slightly. It wouldn't hurt much. "She's a student at a Muggle school. She'll be fourteen this June." She was glad that James hardly knew her. If he had, he'd would've known that a few years back, some strange changes had gone on that caused Regina , her real sister, to have never existed in the first place.

“Oh really? What muggle school? I know a few teachers around here that teach at muggle schools.” James said with a smile. Which was true as his cousin was a kindergarten teacher so he met many teachers that she knew, and then there were times where he had offered to pick up Gwen for Chris as he was working late and he had met teachers that way. He took a sip of his water and checked his watch. He was suppose to be at Kat’s at 7 pm and it was 6:15 now, which meant he had 44 minutes left to talk to Mil and 1 minute to apperate to her house.

"Garcia Middle School, in America." She said in a noticably American accent. "I moved here ten years ago from Texas." She admitted, lowering her head in fake embarressment. "She's in eight grade, but is considering jumping three grades." She smiled. "She isn't quite magical, so she isn't exactly 'in the know'. I haven't seen her in nearly five years."

James was a bit confused over her sudden change in accent but let it go for now, though he did plan on doing a bit of research in his spare time on her…something just didn’t quiet feel right. While he was positive, he was not sitting here and chatting with a death eater something else just bugged him. James nodded, “Why don’t you go visit her sometime? Even if she doesn’t know anything about the magical world, or not that much, there are still planes and such if you need to get there the muggle way.” He suggested.

"I couldn't possibly go back. First problem being the restraining order placed on me by my mother." Mil took another sip of wine, and coughed. She coughed for a few minutes before saying "Went down the wrong hole." She stopped breathing for a few moments and then began again.

James nodded deciding to drop the subject for now but remembering his previous thought, and just tucking it back into his memory to do later. He took a sip of his water as he looked around. Many people were staring at them or past them at the small wizarding television that had been put in a few years ago, showing an old quidditch game. He was not surprised some people looked at them; they did look like a strange couple. She was dressed up in a gorgeous but fancy dress, and he was in his Auror robes, which without the over robe with the emblem, looked like black dress robes. “So, will you be in town long?” He asked with a smile.

"My next assignment is an inside job." She said, openning her purse. She looked at a clump of post-it's. "I've got a meeting with the Minister at 7PM tonight." She said. "By the way, if someone asks. I won't be there tonight. Okay?" She said, winking a bit. She was acting suspicious for a reason. She wondered, for a moment, that if she said she was going to kill him, he would go to stop her? Or if he would let her do her job?

James nodded and smiled, “That’s ok, I have to be at my sisters for dinner at 7 o-clock anyways.” He said with a light chuckle, “And ok.” He said looking at her strangely for a second before he took the last swig of his bottle of water. Tonight was his night off so he would worry about it tomorrow, and also look up her past and her sister, as her story didn’t sit quiet right with him. Had he really known what she had to do, it probably would have taken quiet an explanation to have him let her go, though in the end he probably would have.

She looked at her watch and gasped. It would take her about twenty minutes to get there on foot and on dust. And it was nearly 6:35 now. "I'm sorry James. But I honestly must go. " She finished the last swish of wine and kissed him on the cheek. She ran out the door and dusted as she left the door.

James smiled as she left and gave a small shake of his head once she was gone, “That was pretty weird…I must admit.” He muttered to himself. He ordered another bottle of water to replace the one he had drank and paid the barkeep, telling him that he would need another order next week about the same time before grabbing his robe and leaving for his sisters weekly family dinner.
