//I guess. But I have to warn you...Jake's good. // Jake waited for the Keeper to be in front of the hoops and then threw the Quaffle as high as he could straight forward, seeming to shoot from all the way across the Pitch. He flew forward rapidly and as it came down, he twisted his broom around and sent the Quaffle flying directly at the left hoop at a fast pace.

jared was still catching his breath when he saw the quaffle coming towards him...it looked like it was going to go over him, but the Jake came up, and threw towards his left. He swung around, and went for the hoop, just catching it after it went about six inches into the hoop. He threw it back at Jake. "1 to zero, you." He said quickly, the competitiveness [[sp??]] rising when he realized, he was really good.

Lily stood there and watching, taking mental notes. Jake was very hard to score against, one of the reasons they were both being honored at the stupid International Quidditch Players banquett. She didn't want to go, but as captain and reciver of an award, she didn't really have a choice. She was thinking of taking her two nefews as her dates...but she was afraid they'd get bored and end up playing paper football or something. She sighed, hoping that Jake would be smart and not use his extra powers. Scaring off the 10th Keeper would not put him high on her favorites list...of course....the other 9 had been simply because of how NATURALLY good he was....but if he got into the competitive state she wasn't sure what he would do.

Jake flashed a smile at the Keeper as he caught the Quaffle. He spun it in the air and caught it on the tip of his finger like a basketball, keeping it spinning. He did this all the way to the halfway mark before deciding to give the poor Keeper a small chance, as well as a test. Without warning he threw the ball up a few feet and backflipped, hitting it solidly with his foot as he went. This was a move that had taken months of practice to perfect, and he grinned as he saw the Quaffle rocket toward the right hoop. He had hoped to put a little spin on it when he kicked, and thus made it go toward the center, but instead it stayed on its zipline to the right. It cleared the distance to the Keeper in a few seconds. As it did, Jake glanced at Lily to see her reaction. As he did, he noticed a spectator in the seats, but ignored them. He would ask Lily if she knew who it was later.

This was something he had never seen before, and he wanted to figure out how to do that, but first he zoomed at top speed towards the goal and caught it, in a matter of half seconds. She grinned at himself, but wiped it away, trying not to look impressed that he caught it.... "How did you do that?" He boggled.
//Is boggled a word???//

//Yes. I typed it, and the computer didn't underline it in red like it always does for misspellings...lol//
Jake nodded his approval at the catch. It wasn't too difficult of a play to make, but it showed that the guy had SOME skills. And that was better than nothing. "I'll show you later, it's too hard to explain right now...maybe after practice?" Jake suggested, shrugging.
//Let's wait for Kat.//

"Continue....I didn't say stop." Lily yelled from the ground before she went back to muttering to her quill, which documented what she said. She was taking notes on both players actually and also comming up with plays. She wasn't really paying MUCH attention to what they were doing....if the keeper survived day 1 then he would probably be ok...but this was only lunch break.

Jake nodded and flew from half Pitch to quarter Pitch with the Quaffle, aiming for the right hoop. At the last second he swung his hand around his back and threw the Quaffle toward the left one. Right before he hit the goalposts, Jake pulled up and circled back, trying to see if it had gone in.

At first, Jared thought this was a normal play, used in school. And it was! Shocker! He blocked it easily, being a favorite of his team, and having practiced blocking it more than a million times. "Okay, next." He said, not sounding bored but extremly tired. He threw back the Quaffle, metally thinking '2-1 me! I might survive!'

"If you don't stop the warm up pitches Tripp, you'll be doing laps until my cousin has to come scrape you off the feild!" Lily yelled, "Now actually start playing, or I'll call someone else in and you can go home for the day." She added which pretty much ment, go home and stay home and you'll be on 2nd string for the rest of your contract.

"When did going home become a threat?" Jake asked with a laugh. He knew what she meant...but hey, he had told her from the start that he would back sass and Merlin's beard he was going to keep to his word. Jake caught the Quaffle and went back to half Pitch. He turned and his eyes locked onto the Keeper. Now he was serious. Before anyone could even blink, he kicked his feet onto the broom and rocketed toward the goalposts, swooping toward the left. At the last possible second, he barrel-rolled to the right and threw the Quaffle straight at the hoop. He couldn't brake in time, so simply went over the hoop and made a U-Turn.

Jared blinked. And blinked again. Okay, so the hoop went in the ball, no the ball went into the hoop. Dang, okay so they were really playing. Gotcha...."Okay, I'm actually prepared now." He smiled, popping his hands, and holding tight onto the broom with his legs, ready to grab for the quaffle.
//Sorry it's short, but I have to take a shower, and I wanted to get this post done so you guys aren't waiting for me or something....//

//No problem.//
Jake smiled to himself and coughed in a way that sounded suspiciously like, 'Denial'. He caught the Quaffle again and went back to half Pitch. "Don't feel too bad...I'm one of the best in the world," he said, flashing a wide smile at the Keeper. "Ready?" he added. Without waiting for an answer, Jake jumped up so that he was standing on the broom, Quaffle hooked in his right arm. He rose up in the air and dove at the hoops. He went to the left again, and as he neared the goalposts, turned to the right and got ready to throw. Right before he did, he spun the broom clockwise and threw backward back to the left hoop, a double fake. If the Keeper didn't catch it or block it, the Quaffle would hit the inner edge of the hoop and bounce inside for a score.

//I had to read that last post like 50 times before I could fully understand it....and I still don't....I'm not a big sports person....>.< I'll still take a stab at it!//
Jared saw what he was doing, a fake he wouldn't be stupid enough to go straight for a goal post, and he didn't have time to second guess himself, so he went with that. When Jake did the second fake, he couldn't help but have his face screwed up horribly. He scrambled to the goal, trying to catch the quaffle. He tipped it, but it didn't stop from still heading for the goal, just another angle. It was too much of an angle for it to hit in the right spot and go in, so instead, it hit the post, but did a rolly thingy around the goal post, giving Jared enough time to actually try to catch it, but instead it just fell......outside the goal. Jared quickly grabbed it. "Okay, I'm not sure if I can really take credit for that...it was more luck than really getting it..." He threw the quaffle back to Jake.

Jake shrugged. "I'll give it to you, it won't make a difference anyway," he said with a smirk. Accepting the ball again, he went back to the center, still standing. OK, no more Mr. Nice Guy. Jake decided to do the backflip kick again...he faced away from the Keeper and threw the ball up into the air. At the last second, he did the backflip, but with a little bit of a twist. The broom came with him and hit the ball at an angle, sending it directly at the right goal post, too fast for a reaction, mostly because it wasn't going straight into the hoop. Instead, it bounced off and ricocheted back toward Jake, who had flown up and caught it. Without a second's hesitation, he launched it straight toward the left hoop.

He caught it again, getting his groove back. He mentally thought 'I have it down. Almost every time, you send it at the opposite goal then the origanal one you throw it at. He might want to change it up...' but of course he would never say that. He wanted to look good infront of Ms. Potter, so he kept his trap shut. He could tell she knew his plan, on watching people and deciding what they did, and there moves. Disecting them to understand what they were going to do next.

//Uh Kitty...I have to say...um...Jake is one of the BEST chassers out there for a quidditch team....and no matter how good someone was...there is no way they can catch that many shots in a row on the first day of professional playing. It's like asking a goalie in pro-soccer to go up against David Beckham their first day and have them block all the shots....it's just not going to happen.//

//*shrugs* Maybe Jake was going easy or something...//
Jake, by now, was getting a tad frustrated and decided that it was time to end the warm-ups. He held the Quaffle in his left hand as he went to the center of the Pitch and switched to the right as he faced the Keeper. He rocketed forward and lofted it toward the left hoop before diving low and staying beneath it before coming back up and faking toward the right before throwing it back at the original hoop, the left.

//Sorry ^^! I have never done this Quittitch thingy before! Or any other sport.....I can't even be a comentor, I have no clue what's going on. ^^ I think I like the getting beat up rping though! Its fun!//
The ball went past him. "You stopped the easy ones, huh?" He said, swooping down to get the ball. He felt the determination swell up inside him. It was this stuff that made him love the game. The feeling of having to catch it, having to get it to win. Of course he was great as a keeper at school, but this was pro league. He was playing with people who had been playing the people who were better than the best, the ultimate. Now, he had to practice harder, and longer than most of them just to catch up. He had to really work. He threw the ball back to Jake. "You know, most people say your annoying, and kinda mean, but you aren't half bad." He said with a smile.

"Yeah, I get that a lot," Jake said with a laugh. "And of course. Have to go easy on the new guys, or they sometimes end up leaving in the first five minutes. If you last another half hour, you could break the record for longest kept Keeper on a team I've been on," he laughed.
Catching the Quaffle, Jake flew around and back to half Pitch. He turned to face the Keeper, smirking. He barrel rolled straight toward him, spinning counter clockwise. As he closed in, Jake flew down, angled to the left, and threw up toward the center hoop.

//Do you do this the entire posting thingy??? It could go on FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! *screams in agony* I need something other than PURE throw the quaffle, I catch/miss the quaffle. Have someone yell, have someone break an arm, have...wait! I could be doing that!
Oh, and Kat, the pressure is getting to me. I have ZERO, zippo, notta, none, zip, nothing, no clue at all about catching the quaffle. I don't know if I should be able to catch this one, or whatever. And if you say something along the lines of 'Then you shouldn't be a Quittitch player' then fine...but I just maybe want a little, wee bit of help. Maybe someone could find it in their heart to teach me, or at least something along the lines of help...^^//
Jared dove to get it, in the back of his mind he knew he would be able to catch it. It was going about 10,000,000 K/m and he was going about 15 k/m. But that didn't stop him, he raced faster and faster towards where the ball was going so he could maybe catch it, but then he stopped. He was going down, not forward. Everything was going into a tunnal, light was leaving, and then it was black.
//Oh, if you don't understand: He hit the goal post like an idiot, and then blacked out, going to the ground.//

//YAY! Jake's not the only idiot that runs into goal posts! And if you want, I'll help you figure it out...Basically, Jake's a big-time pro. So a really good Keeper that just joined the league would be able to catch maybe 25% of his throws if they were lucky and it was one-on-one, without any really special moves. Mostly it's just up to judgment...if it sounds easy to catch, or if there's a pattern, or he hasn't caught anything recently, he can catch it. Sometimes two in a row, and once in a blue moon, three good ones in a row. lol//
For a moment, all Jake saw was the Quaffle going past the Keeper and into the goalpost. He smiled a bit, somewhat satisfied, before realizing that the Keeper wasn't going to get it. He looked down a little and saw him falling toward the ground rapidly, and figured out what had happened.
Instantly Jake did a tiny back flip to build up speed and dove straight down. As they were about 20 feet above the ground, he caught up with the Keeper. But he didn't stop. He went a second lower (to about 10 feet) so he would have time to turn, and then made a right angle switch toward the falling player, grabbing his left arm and continuing forward. He winced at the jerkiness of the move, but decided it was better than letting him fall.
As Jake slowed down, he pulled the Keeper onto the back of his broom and put him in a sitting position, so that he was leaning on Jake. Then he flew toward Lily quickly, making sure not to drop him. When he got close enough, he said, "I think he may have a dislocated shoulder...if he's lucky..." and came to a halt, laying the Keeper on the ground in front of Lily.

Lily sighed and ran a frustrated hand through her hair, “At least he’s better then the last guy…broke his arm trying to catch your second throw. Ok, let me do a quick diagnostic…” She said taking out her wand and waving it over him. She was glad that Kat had studied healing in Hogwarts, even though she had finally decided on Unspeakable for a career, and happy for the fact that Chris’s mother was a head healer and had taught them a small bit. “You’re right, dislocated with a small hairline fracture. A few pain potions, a pop back in the socket and quick spell work and he will be fine…I cannot do that though…without a license and the liability…I am not that stupid. We’ll have to get a healer out here.” Lily said with a sigh.
//And sorry Kitty, but what Danny said is right. It’s like…a high school football player jumping into the NFL and trying to be on first string…he’s not going to great…maybe not even well….they just get through it without complaining…at least to the captains face.///
