Florida. The perfect place to stir up some fun, some romance, and Jasmine Longbottom's temper. "Bloody country," she mumbled, brushing sand off of her new tight black jeans. They had looked nice until some spoiled American children had to come and spoil her peaceful moment. "I swear, I'll kill them," she said to herself, beginning to pull out her wand. She was smarter than that. Her old, trusty wand remained in her pocket. She wouldn't kill the kids...today. "I swear," she began, "I'm never coming back to America. Everyone's fat and spoiled to the bloody core."
||Haha, no offence. =P ||

"Aw, come on. Give Americans their due." A brunette man and a younger blonde woman were sitting nearby and just so happened to overhear here. "Go get Ashton and Kyle and go home, Paige." He whispered to her, pointing at two of the kids who had put sand on the girl's pants. The blonde got up quickly and pulled the kids away, a few seconds after she was gone, the man got closer. The man talked with an American accent himself. "I mean, we made the Telephone, the Television, and the Atkin's diet." He flashed her a phony smile and continued "Well, maybe the Atkin's diet didn't work out so well." The man himself was decently slender for an American.

"Telephone, telly, and Atkins diet," Jasmine laughed. "You guys fucked up big time on the whole diet thing. Or it didn't work. Though it did on you, didn't it?" Finally someone who wasn't a million pounds...She was scarred for life seeing all those fat arses in tiny bikinis. But, they were gone now. And the sun would be right along with then in a few minutes. Then she could start raising some British hell.

"I take it you aren't American yourself?" He laughed a bit at the diet comment. "Nah, I just have a high metabolisum. " He guessed that she was British, but it doesn't take an idiot to distinguish a British accent, either. He looked at a bulge in her pocket, it looked like a really big stick. "And I don't think everyone's so spoiled, neither. I mean, I only have a 32' inch big screen TV when I obviously should have a 40' inch big screen HD TV with Blue Ray player," he nodded.

"You're a genius," she said, rolling her eyes. What idiot couldn't make out an English accent when they heard one? "Aren't you a lucky boy," she added. Hm. Apparently conceited, but that was alright. Maybe he just never got to talk about him self. Yeah...That was it! He was stuck with a bunch of stuck up preppy American cheerleading girls all day, and all they ever talk about is themselves. Might as well let him talk about himself for a few moments. She nodded about the whole TV dilemma, not even hearing it, nor caring.

"And you hinted that I was stupid?" he said, frowning. British humor must be different, especially considering that 1. She mentioned his weight, thus he had to add something about that and 2. The TV bit was a joke, obviously. Someone, or rather, something, caught his eye. A small black shadow that was indescribable other than that it was like an aura surrounding a person. He turned sharply to look at a young woman coming their way. She was maybe in her early thirties, maybe late twenties, and had black hair. He decided to ignore her for now, but knew it wouldn't last. She would notice him, compare their shadows, and come to play. That's the way it always worked. He turned back to the other girl. "Name's Dexter Moser."

"That's nice," she said. She wasn't going to give him her name yet. Maybe she could freeze him. If he was Muggle, that is. She had learned a freezing spell in a book back in her Hogwarts days...Anything to shut this boy up. Some people didn't like talking as much as he did...Jasmine was one of those people. Oh, what was the spell? She wouldn't remember it. She knew that much. She hated not remebering things. "Jasmine. Jasmine Longbottom."

He turned quickly back to the black haired girl, then back to Jasmine. He quickly recognized the black haired girl as the one in the random tip. You see, Dexter had gotten an E-mail from an unknown source. It had two things on it: A description of a girl and her picture. He name was Azreal Longbottom-Goodwill. "Longbottom, eh? You know her?" He pointed at the black haired girl and gave another phony, but less obvious smile.

"Yes, I do." she answered. Of course she knew Az. Azreal. Longbottom. Goodwill. Whatever she was going by these days. "Why? Do you know Az?" Oh, god. If this boy was magical and he knew Az, her "sister" was in a load of trouble. And even if Dexter wasn't magical, well, Az would most likely still be in trouble...

Dexter's eyes went hard as Az approached. "So she calls herself Az?" He felt himself sharpening his knives already. "Interesting," he whispered to himself. Az came closer and finally was next to her 'sister'. "Jasmine," Az said with an obvious contempt. "who's your little buddy?" "So you do know each other?" Dex smiled a very real smile.

"No, you dumb arse. We're guessing each other's names," she said, with a little smile. Thank god the sun was gone. "I don't even know him," Jasmine said to Az, shrugging. "He's a stalker, I swear..." One that talked a lot. If he was an American Muggle, why did he care about two British girls?

Azreal looked at Dexter and hardly noticed the whole 'I want to kill you' look that he was giving her. She was wearing a very short black dress that gave her an air of authority and he wand was securing her belt to the side. Dexter smiled again, noticing that she had that weird shape on her side. Just like Jasmine did. Az raised an eyebrow, "He doesn't look like a stalker." She smiled a bit and moved a bit closer. When she did, Dexter moved a bit farther from her. He didn't like touching people much. Hell, even with Paige, his 'girlfriend' (Her word, not his. He hardly liked her. He didn't like a lot of people, actually) he didn't like to touch her either. Ashton and Kyle were required for touching because he had tucked them into bed, read them stories, and noticed that Kyle was a bit psycho himself. That fact was the reason he stayed with Rita. Both her kids were future psychos in training. He snapped out of his little 'thinking' episode and looked back at the two girls. They looked nothing alike. You'd think since they were sisters. . . Wait, didn't Az say she was a Goodwill too? That must be it.

"Do you two know each other?" Jasmine asked obliviously. "You seem like it." They weren't friends. She knew that. Enemies, more like it. Is this who Az saw everytime she disappeared? A man who talked only about himself? She could spend her time more wisely, couldn't she. This guy was a total bastard, she could feel it...and she could sense Az was about to get in trouble....

Az leaned towards her 'sister', "He's a muggle, a cute one, but a Muggle all the same. I can tell," she whispered. Dexter caught the look that Jasmine was giving him. He decided then to stop looking at Jasmine's sister as if she was meat to be put on the grill. 'Low profile my arse' he thought, checking the water for a second. It was peaceful. Totally unlike the real Miami, which was filled with cursing traffic-ers, bad people such as himself, and bad people such as Azreal. "So, what are both of you doing here in America?" Dexter asked, trying to get the feel of Jasmine's obvious dislike off of him.

Because it isn't obvious, she thought. There wasn't the bulge in his pocket, like most wizards had. That kind of set her off. She didn't...really...like Muggles. She never had, either. She had always felt sorry for them, no magic. Especially the Muggle preps. Gaaaag. Jasmine shook her head, trying to get the facial expressions left from "the look" she had been giving Dexter. She knew nothing would come out if she tried to talk. Something that always happened when she got nervous. Might as well let Az answer that question...

"I'm here because there's a convention. Actually, it's more like a family reunion because it's nearly all Goodwill's or their relatives." She looked to her sister "I thought Jasmine was here with you. You know, having a nice party with a cute boy. But, obviously not," she inched closer and he moved away. Dexter remembered a bit of the last few sentences that he had heard come from the two girls. "What's a Muggle?" He asked, his eyes turning hard again as he asked. They were a deep blue, but were still weird in a Muggle-ish way. Abnormal, in a way. As if he was a cop and looking at you during an interogation. He was a cop, in a way. He cooked sushi on Fridays and served it to the cops. But he was mainly a minor cop who just-so-happened to have access to evidence to murders.

Jasmine shook her head, swallowing her spit, trying to keep her throat from staying so dry. She could talk. "N-No w-way." Thank god Az was here. "You," she answered the question. Her voice a little scratchy, but definitely back. She put her in her pocket again. The pocket with the stick, her wand. She made a fist around the wood, pulling it out of her pocket slowly and putting it behind her back, even though she knew she probably wouldn't get the chance to use it.

Dexter caught her grabbing something, a weapon perhaps, and was mad at himself for leaving his filet knife in the car. He had a 2008 Ford Taurus. It was maroon and it was the same car all cops used on under-cover missions. Did he have a filet knife in these jeans? Today was Friday, he should have his sushi knife at least. He touched his pocket and sighed in both fustration and relief. He had a pocket knife, but that was all. Az hid a laugh before reaching for her own wand. It was still there, and she could get to it easily enough. Az stopped and looked at Jasmine "This is no way to treat your guest, is it?"

Jasmine looked up from the sidewalk. "Uhm, no?" she said it more like a question than an answer. She wasn't exactly sure what Az had meant, but she probably was looking for an answer along the lines of the one she had given.

He couldn't pull the knife in front of all these people. He could plea self defense, of course. But having two dead British broads instead of one particularly bad one wouldn't be good. "I don't know about Britain. But in America, we don't reach for weapons on each other." He smiled and talked through clenched teeth.

"That's nice," Jasmine said with a smile. "You know, it'd look really bad if the police found two corpses here and no alibi for you during this time." He was a witness and there would be a hole in his alibi. Not good for his friendship with the police...at all.

He looked at the girl who had apparently read his mind. "Depends what you two are hiding and whether it can do anything against me," he grimaced and touched his pocket again. The knife was still there, safe. "Sister, dear, why don't we just put our little troubles behind us?" she said pointingly, motioning to her backside and her wand. "I'm sure Dexter means no harm," she said with assurence.

Jasmine shrugged. "We haven't hurt you, have we?" She smiled, though she knew there was nothing to be happy about. Her life was apparently on the line with this shady figure so close to her. She nodded, then shook her head, looking at Az. "I'm sure he does."

Az, though weaker than usual, was behind Jasmine in an instant. "Jasie-Poo," she whispered quietly "don't make me hurt you. Leave Dexter alone." Dexter smiled as Az showed how fast she was. Their playdate would be more fun than he'd imagined. Too bad Jasmine was the only sister who could tell her wasn't good news.

Jasmine shook her head. "Well, no. Go ahead, kill me. You'd just be next." Where was all this courage coming from? Adrenaline, probably. She'd never been scared of a Muggle until this night, but would probably be afraid of them until the day she died now. Especially police officers and men who made sushi...
